Promotion to Senior Software Developer!

I am excited to announce that I’ve been promoted to Senior Developer at SAVO!  

I started at SAVO just over 4 years ago as a junior developer coming straight out of college.  When I began, it was just my manager and I, flying pretty much under the radar of the rest of the company, doing custom development jobs here and there.  I was brought in when my manager needed assistance on a long multi-month project for a large pharmaceutical company.  4 years later, that project is still being actively used and built upon (last update went out thursday night!).  

Two years later, I was promoted for the first time - dropping the “junior” from my title.  By this time, I had really begun to hit my stride - fully becoming confident in my dev skills, interacting with clients and learning the sales/marketing business.  My passion for technology really took off - to this day I’m still learning, going to user groups/conferences, and reading development books voraciously.  

The time between Developer and Senior Developer has been the best yet - our team of two has since expanded to six along with help from a team of offshore developers.  We’ve built scalable, reusable applications that our customers really enjoy, solving great challenges along the way.  So far this year it’s been a blast helping to launch one of SAVO’s core new products - I can’t wait to keep moving forward.

Continuing to develop my hard/soft skills and taking advantage of every opportunity given to me has always been the biggest factor in my career success.  That said, without the support and opportunities from SAVO management I certainly wouldn’t be where I am today.  A big “Thank You” to all those who have supported me along the way!
